Find a space where you feel seen, steady, and understood.

No matter the challenge, we will navigate it together. In this steady, comfortable space, you can uncover your best self—and find clear direction.

You don't have to carry it all.

I primarily work with millennials and adults who are navigating the complexities of modern life. If you are feeling overwhelmed by high-functioning anxiety, relationship dynamics, or career burnout, we can work together to find clarity.

  • Anxiety & Depression: Managing intense internal narratives.
  • Life Transitions: Navigating identity changes and new life stages.
  • Career Shifts: Navigating professional changes and finding new direction.
  • Relationships: Couples therapy, conflict resolution, and attachment wounds.
  • Burnout: Finding purpose-alignment and relieving career stress.
  • Identity: A safe space for queer, multicultural, and intersectional experiences.

Meet Sonia Ahmadi, LMFT

Founder of Primus Psychotherapy

Therapy isn’t about "fixing" who you are. It is about understanding your patterns, strengthening your voice, and creating lasting change in the relationships that matter most—including the one you have with yourself.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master’s from the California School of Professional Psychology. My work is grounded in a relational and multicultural lens, meaning I see your story as shaped by your background, identity, and environment.

Clients often describe my style as warm, grounded, and direct. I aim to create a space that feels steady—a place where you can express yourself freely and build the foundation for a more balanced, connected life.

Credentials: Certified in Cultural Competency (Clearview CME) • Post-graduate training in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, EFT, & Trauma-Focused CBT • Member of AAMFT.

Rooted in Insight. Driven by Change.

Real progress happens when understanding meets action. My approach blends deep insight with practical tools to help you not just cope, but grow toward your best self.

Understanding Your Patterns

The "Why" — Rooted in Bowen Family Systems

Challenges rarely exist in isolation; they live within the systems we belong to. We will explore how emotional patterns move through your history and relationships to help you develop "differentiation of self"—the ability to stay connected to others while staying true to your own thoughts and emotions.

Building Your Skills

The "How" — Powered by Evidence-Based Methods

While insight helps us see the patterns, action helps us break them. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, and mindfulness to give you concrete skills. You will leave sessions with tools to regulate your emotions, set boundaries, and build self-trust in real-time.

Logistics & Investment

Remote-Friendly

All sessions are 100% online, offering you a steady space from the comfort of your own home.

Insurance

I am an out-of-network provider. I can provide a "superbill" for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

Investment

Transparency is key. Rates are available upon request, and a sliding scale is available for eligible clients.
