Sonia Ahmadi, LMFT

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

Primus Psychotherapy offers a thoughtful, insight-driven approach to therapy for individuals navigating anxiety, relationships, and life changes. Founded by Sonia Ahmadi, LMFT, a licensed psychotherapist with over a decade of clinical experience, the practice is rooted in helping clients better understand the patterns shaping their thoughts, emotions, and relationships.

Sonia works with adults who are seeking meaningful change — whether that means gaining clarity in relationships, moving through periods of uncertainty, or understanding the deeper dynamics that may be keeping them feeling stuck. Her work centers on helping clients move toward a more grounded, intentional version of themselves, and create lasting, meaningful change.

My Approach

My approach to therapy is both insight-driven and practical. I draw primarily from Bowenian theory and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which means we focus on understanding the patterns shaping your thoughts, emotions, and relationships, while also developing the tools needed to shift them. Together, we look at both the immediate challenges you’re facing and the broader context they exist within.

Therapy is collaborative and tailored to you. I aim to create a space that feels thoughtful, steady, and nonjudgmental, while also helping you challenge what may no longer be working. The goal is not just temporary relief, but a deeper understanding that leads to lasting, meaningful change.

Sonia’s therapeutic style blends clinical insight with thoughtful collaboration and a steady, grounded presence. Her work is rooted in the belief that the patterns we experience in our thoughts, emotions, and relationships are not random — but meaningful, and capable of being understood and shifted.

Focus Areas:

  • Understand and shift recurring patterns in relationships

  • Reduce anxiety and overthinking

  • Improve communication and set clearer boundaries

  • Navigate life transitions and periods of uncertainty

  • Build self-awareness, confidence, and emotional resilience

  • Develop a more grounded, intentional way of relating to themselves and others

Clients often seek out Sonia when they feel stuck in familiar patterns or are looking for a deeper, more thoughtful approach to therapy. Her work centers on helping clients gain clarity, move beyond what is no longer working, and create lasting, meaningful change.
